💻 HOW TO REINSTALL WINDOWS FROM A USB DRIVE (STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE)
Reinstalling Windows can fix slow performance, boot errors, and system crashes.
Follow the correct method using a bootable USB to get a fresh, stable Windows setup.

1. What You Need
A PC that meets Windows requirements
8 GB USB flash drive (empty)
Internet connection
Windows product key (optional during install; you can activate later)
2. Download Windows
On a working PC, go to Microsoft’s official Windows download page
Download the Media Creation Tool for:
Windows 11, or
Windows 10
3. Create a Bootable USB
Insert the USB drive
Run the Media Creation Tool
Choose Create installation media (USB flash drive)
Select:
Language
Edition
Architecture (64-bit is standard)
Choose your USB drive and let the tool finish
4. Boot From the USB
Insert the USB into the target PC
Turn it on and immediately press the Boot Menu key:
Common keys: F12, F10, ESC, DEL
Select the USB drive
5. Start Windows Installation
Choose:
Language
Time & currency
Keyboard layout
Click Install Now
Enter product key (or click I don’t have a product key)
6. Choose Installation Type
Upgrade → Keeps files (only works from within Windows)
Custom (Recommended) → Clean install
Choose Custom for a fresh installation.
7. Disk & Partition Setup
If reinstalling:
Delete old Windows partitions (optional but cleanest)
Select Unallocated Space
Click Next
⚠️ Deleting partitions will erase data.
8. Installation Process
Windows copies files and restarts several times
Do not remove the USB until setup completes
9. First-Time Setup (OOBE)
You’ll configure:
Region & keyboard
Wi-Fi / network
Microsoft account (or offline account)
Privacy & security settings
10. After Installation (Very Important)
Install drivers
Windows Update first
Then GPU, chipset, Wi-Fi drivers (from manufacturer)
Activate Windows
Settings → System → Activation
Run Windows Update until fully up to date
Install essential apps
Optional: UEFI / TPM Notes (Windows 11)
Secure Boot: Enabled
TPM 2.0: Required
BIOS mode: UEFI, not Legacy
Common Problems & Fixes
USB not showing → Recreate USB / try another port
No drives found → Load storage drivers (Intel RST)
Windows 11 not supported → BIOS settings or hardware check
